Selection of Sauna Timber

Selection of Sauna Timber

Sauna timber refers to the type of wood that is suitable for use in saunas. Sauna timbers are chosen for their ability to withstand high temperatures and humidity, as well as their resistance to decay and warping.

Some of the most common types of wood used for sauna construction include:

  1. Cedar

  2. Spruce

  3. Hemlock

  4. Aspen

Other woods that can be used in saunas include pine, fir, and larch. It is important to choose a wood that is free of knots and has been dried to the appropriate moisture content to ensure that it will not warp or crack in the sauna environment.
